The Zain Africa Challenge programme enjoys tremendous support in the education sector.

Ministries of Education in all countries assist with identifying eligible universities and communicating with the Vice Chancellors. In Nigeria, the National Universities Commission (NUC) assisted with the selection of 16 universities for the inaugural year.

Vice Chancellors at participating universities guide the programme at their respective institutions.

In addition, the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA) and the National Universities Commission (NUC) assist Zain Africa Challenge by serving as a liaison to the participating universities and in providing research support for the project.
